There’s a reason why the defunct Hankook Kinergy H727 was a popular choice. It not only delivers sporty levels of grip, but it also came with a 100,000-mile treadwear warranty. So when Hankook came up with a replacement in the form of the Kinergy PT H737, the company knew it had to offer a lengthy treadwear warranty in order to warm the hearts of previous buyers.

In a nutshell, Hankook has a winner in the Kinergy PT H737. In this review, you’ll find out how the tire performs in a variety of road conditions. This will hopefully guide you in purchasing the right set of tires for your ride

What are the features of the Hankook Kinergy PT H737?

The Hankook Kinergy PT H737 is classified as a premium touring all-season tire. With that being said, it is easy to discern this tire is made for high-mileage drivingTouring tires are also known to deliver a quiet and comfortable ride. Hankook started with the basics and came up with a unique rubber compound for the Kinergy PT H737. The tire maker utilized a special mix of silica and carbon black to deliver the lowest rolling resistance without disrupting traction and all-weather grip.

It may not look like it, but the Hankook Kinergy PT H737 has an asymmetric tread design. The outer shoulder blocks are enhanced for stiffness to improve dry performance, steering, and handling. This tire also benefits from wider circumferential grooves for efficient water evacuation. The treads are peppered with lateral grooves and aqua slant sipes that lock together as the tire contacts the pavement. The result is better handling in wet and dry roads along with better stability when cornering.

The unique thing about the Hankook Kinergy PT H737 is the visual alignment indicators. This feature is more common in touring tires. It allows you to visually check the tire and suspension alignment in your vehicle. By comparing the wear on the sipes in the inner and outer shoulder of the tire, you can easily see if your car needs an alignment check before completely ruining the tires.

How does it perform in dry and wet roads?

It performs like a dream. Out of all the touring tires I tested, the Hankook Kinergy PT H737 is among the best in terms of dry grip. I don’t mean to exaggerate, but in some instances, this tire seems to offer higher levels of grip than a performance tire. The same can be said as the tire is exposed to the rain-drenched pavement. The deeper circumferential grooves are able to channel water away from the contact patch at a faster and more efficient rate. This is the secret behind the excellent dry and wet performance of the Hankook Kinergy PT H737.

The enhanced block stiffness may slightly penalize driving comfort, but not by much. In fact, this feature enables the tire to maintain a steady level of grip despite the low rolling resistance of the rubber. As an added plus, the grip levels will never fade whether on dry, wet, or light snowy roads.

Is it good for snow or cold weather driving?

Yes, but only in light snow. But with a plethora of wide lateral grooves, aqua slant sipes, and deeper circumferential grooves, the Hankook Kinergy PTH737 can handle a bit more snow, ice, or slush than an ordinary touring tire. However, if you live in harsh winter conditions with deep snow, it is better to place your bets on a proper set of winter tires.

Is it comfortable?

Yes! In fact, the Hankook Kinergy PT H737 is one of the most comfortable touring tires in the category. It makes humps and bumps feel like a thing of the past and it attacks potholes with the grace of a ballet dancer. The comfort levels remain the same even at higher speeds. This tire is a smooth operator in city streets but remains calm and composed as you speed up on the highway.

How about tire noise?

The noise levels in the Hankook Kinergy PT H737 are relatively low, which is unsurprising for a touring tire. And while other premium tires can roll quieter at higher speeds, the Kinergy PT H737 can do the same without burning a hole in your wallet. It is rare for a tire to be this quiet and refined without costing too much.

However, it’s not perfect. Tire roar will start creeping in as you reach the higher limits of the speedometer. Of course, this also depends on the type of vehicle you drive. In most cases, the tire is quiet at slow to moderate speeds but starts humming steadily as the speed rises.

How long will the tires last?

The previous model Kinergy H727 was capable of longer mileage. That tire came with a 100,000-mile warranty. The newer Hankook Kinergy PT H737 is accompanied by a shorter but still excellent 90,000-mile warranty. Hankook goes further by saying the Kinergy PT H737 has the highest rating of any tire sold today (860 A A UTQG).

Yes! If your subcompactfamily sedan, or compact car requires an all-season touring tire, you should definitely check out the Hankook Kinergy PT H737. It’s not because this tire is an excellent choice overall, but it also comes at an affordable price.
