What are the features of the Toyo Extensa A/S?
Toyo tires are known for their spirited high-performance tires such as the Proxes Sport. In truth, the brand is home to an incredible array of great tires that offer good value for money. One such example is the Toyo Extensa A/S.
The Toyo Extensa A/S is engineered with a symmetric tread design. It comes with an optimized center block arrangement to offer better high-speed stability and sharper steering feel. The tire comes with variable-pitch angled tread blocks to maximize the contact patch with the road. The tread design also enables the tire to deliver long-distance touring comfort.
Similar to other touring tires, the Toyo Extensa A/S is equipped with four wide circumferential grooves with variable-pitch channels. This design improves water evacuation for a secure driving feeling on wet roads. There are multi-wave sipes on the tread blocks to improve traction and grip in all types of weather, even when driving in light snow. The sipes are computer-optimized to also deliver a longer tread life and a quieter ride.
What vehicles are applicable to the Toyo Extensa A/S?

The best thing about this tire is the budget-friendly price. Depending on the size, you will only spend around $250 to $300 for a set of four Toyo Extensa tires. But if you have a fast or sporty car with powerful turbocharged motors, the increased horsepower and torque might overwhelm the limited traction of the Toyo Extensa A/S.
Is it good for fast driving on dry roads?
The Toyo Extensa A/S is great for straight-line and high-speed driving, such as when cruising in the open highway. But if you’re talking about the type of driving that involves high-speed cornering and sudden changes in direction, you are barking at the wrong tree.
This tire is an all-season touring rubber. It is not designed for extremely fast and sporty driving. The adhesion of the tire on the road is limited by the speed of the vehicle. At low to medium speeds, the tires will roll silently with nary a complaint. Things will be different as you attach a winding corner at higher-than-average speeds. The tire will also complain in spirited point-and-shoot driving.
If you’re a fast driver in a sporty coupe or sedan, you are better off with a sportier set of high-performance or ultra-high performance rubber. But if all you need is a basic tire for normal driving, you can’t go wrong with the Toyo Extensa A/S.
How does it perform in snowy or icy roads?
The Toyo Extensa A/S is surprisingly good in winter driving, but only if the roads are covered in very light snow. Anything that resembles a winter wonderland will demand the softer compound of winter tires or snow-rated rubber. But considering the price, the Toyo Extensa A/S is better than other expensive touring tires in the snow.
Is it good in the wet?
It is marginally good in the wet, but not by much. Like I previously mentioned, it is easy to unsettle the Toyo Extensa A/S in aggressive driving. As long as you maintain a decent speed, you won’t have any problems with this tire in wet weather driving. The variable-pitch angled tread blocks and variable-pitch water channels will make sure of that.

Should I buy the Toyo Extensa A/S?
It all depends on the type of vehicle and the intended application. We made it quite clear from the beginning of this Toyo Extensa A/S review it is not meant for fast and aggressive driving. If you have a tuned compact car, you might be better off with a set of performance rubber that offers stronger traction and better high-speed stability.
But for normal everyday driving in tight city roads, it is hard to go wrong with the Toyo Extensa A/S. It remains a safe and informed choice that won’t break the bank. Instead of insisting on the cheapest set of tires you can find, why not choose a tire from a brand that is known to produce one of the best performance tires in the market?
Of course, it will ultimately depend on how much you can afford. It is easy to spend upwards of $500 to $800 for a set of expensive tires. But with the Toyo Extensa A/S, you can have your cake and eat it too. As an added plus, it even comes with a solid 50,000 to 65,000-mile treadwear warranty.
